State Info

Elections are the way we solve our political differences. Recently, they’ve instead become another political issue to fight over. Heated rhetoric and misinformation about the electoral process in Nevada has led to an erosion of trust among voters and even threats to the public servants who administer our elections. We have to get back to a place where the results are trusted, both on the winning and losing sides.

RightCount is dedicated to honoring America’s Founding, upholding the Constitution and counting every vote. By working with firefighters, police officers, veterans and small business owners to educate Nevada voters on the integrity and accuracy of the electoral processes, RightCount will reduce the appeal of extremism for election doubters and build confidence in the outcome of elections.

Who is in charge of ensuring Nevada’s elections are secure?

The Nevada Secretary of State’s office oversees all election activity, including voter registration and municipal, state, county, and federal elections. The Office of the Secretary of State works closely with county election offices to make sure that policies are followed and elections take place according to established laws and rules. Local election officials and poll workers, everyday Americans from both parties, receive training to ensure strict compliance with standards that ensure transparency, accuracy and security in elections.

No. The state of Nevada deploys tried-and-tested systems to ensure fraud does not happen. Every unique situation that appears to be a violation of any state or federal election law is investigated thoroughly.

Does same-day registration enable voter fraud in Nevada?

No. There are strict measures in place to prevent and identify attempted voter fraud within the same-day registration process. To same-day register a voter must have a valid Nevada driver’s license or Nevada ID card and must present it to the election official at their polling place; this prevents non-Nevada residents from fraudulently utilizing the same-day registration process. In addition, before the same-day registration provisional ballots are counted, a statewide report is run that compares the names and driver’s license/ID card numbers of all provisional voters to ensure only one ballot will be counted per voter. This report also compares all provisional voters to all the in-person and by-mail voters whose ballots were already counted to ensure provisional voters have not already voted. Voters who commit voter fraud are guilty of a category D felony and are prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Even attempting to vote more than once in the same election is voter fraud.

If I don’t trust the postal service, can I still vote using my mail-in ballot?
