PRESS RELEASE: RightCount Nevada Law Enforcement Leaders Praise Governor Lombardo’s Election Security Strategy

Reno, NV: RightCount Nevada’s law enforcement spokesmen—Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam and former Clark County District Attorney David Roger—expressed strong support for Governor Joe Lombardo’s proactive decision to activate a limited contingent of National Guard personnel on standby for the upcoming November 5 election. This precautionary approach underscores a measured commitment to ensuring the safety and integrity of Nevada’s electoral process.

Balaam praised the Governor’s decision, stating, “Governor Lombardo’s plan reflects a balanced, yet strong, approach to election security. By having resources like the National Guard available, we are better equipped to respond swiftly if unexpected challenges arise. This preparation sends a clear message to Nevada voters that the integrity of the electoral process remains the chief priority.

Additionally, Roger emphasized the importance the proactive measures, adding, “It’s encouraging to see this level of coordination and planning among state leaders. Ensuring election officials have the backing and resources needed on Election Day allows them to focus on their core mission—keeping our elections secure.”

Governor Lombardo’s activation plan includes 60 members of the National Guard stationed in Carson City and Las Vegas. The Guard’s role is intended to supplement law enforcement efforts in areas such as traffic management, building security, and state-wide communication coordination.
