Atlanta, GA — RightCount condemns the non-credible bomb threats against polling places in several Georgia counties that represent a clear attempt to disrupt the election process. RightCount Georgia, a nonpartisan coalition committed to promoting transparent and accurate elections in Georgia, calls on all Georgians to remain calm, support election workers, and trust the process that protects the integrity and accuracy of their votes. It has been reported that the emailed threats were made to precincts in Fulton, DeKalb and Gwinnett counties. Former State Senate President Eric Johnson, Chair of RightCount Georgia, issued the following statement in response to the threats:
“These threats are meant to create fear and chaos, but they only strengthen our resolve. Our communities stand together to protect the right to vote and uphold order, especially during these times. I urge all Georgians to treat our poll workers with the respect they deserve and to keep faith in the measures we have in place to ensure an accurate count. These professionals are dedicated to serving their neighbors, and they work tirelessly to maintain the safety and security of our elections.”
RightCount Georgia urges all voters to be vigilant but also to trust in the comprehensive security and verification measures used in Georgia to ensure that every vote is counted accurately and without interference.
