PRESS RELEASE: RightCount Nevada Stands Up for Washoe County’s Election Integrity Against Baseless Allegations

Reno, NV — RightCount Nevada spokespersons, State Senator Heidi Seevers O’Gara and Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam condemned accusations of election fraud in Washoe County.  As these claims surface without supporting evidence, RightCount Nevada is dedicated to reinforcing the importance of trusting Nevada’s electoral process and the dedicated work of its election officials.

“Implying that Washoe County’s election results were tampered with after in-depth research is proving to the contrary undermines the democratic process—a process many election deniers swear to protect,” said Seevers O’Gara. “Our fellow Nevadans who serve as election officials are committed to fairness and accuracy. Casting doubt on the process attempts to erode trust in our state’s system that has been upheld to be both transparent and secure and it needs to be called out.”

Balaam said, “The safety of our elections goes hand-in-hand with the safety of our communities. Spreading falsehoods about fraud risks undermines voter confidence and incites potential harm to our community. I encourage all Nevadans to stand with us in respecting and safeguarding our election process.”
