PRESS RELEASE: Joint Election Day Statement from RightCount Co-Chairs Mark Schweiker, Lou Barletta, & RightCount Leadership Advisory Committee Members
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
November 5, 2024
Harrisburg, Pa. – The following joint Election Day statement was release by RightCount’s organization leadership in Pennsylvania.
“As voting continues on this important Election Day, we want to take a moment to express our gratitude to every Pennsylvanian who is participating in our election process. This carries the potential to be one of the most consequential elections in history. Your voice matters, and we commend your commitment to shaping the future of the Commonwealth and our nation.
“As we head to the polls, we urge all voters to practice patience, civility, and respect for poll workers and election officials. These dedicated individuals are ensuring that our elections are conducted fairly and accurately, often under challenging circumstances. Their hard work and professionalism are vital to maintaining the integrity of our elections.
“It is important to note that Pennsylvania law stipulates that counting of mail-in ballots cannot begin until 8 p.m. on Election Night. This means that while many may be eager for quick results, it is essential to allow election officials the necessary time to perform their duties diligently and accurately. Quickening the process could jeopardize the accuracy of the results that reflect the will of the people.
“Thank you for your participation, your patience, and your commitment to the electoral process.”
